Pittsburgh Penguins rookie head coach Dan Muse has been named one of three finalists for the Jack Adams Award, presented annually to the NHL Coach of the Year. Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff and Tampa Bay’s Jon Cooper are the other finalists. Muse led the Penguins to 98 points and a 41-25-16 record in his first season, and helped the Pens to their first playoff appearance in four years.
Dan Bylsma is the only Penguins coach to have won the award. Michel Therrien is the only other nominee in Penguins history.
