The Pittsburgh Riveters fell to Minnesota-Aurora 2-1 last night in the USLW playoffs. It was the first loss of the year for the Riveters, and it came in extra time to end their season. Mars graduate Gracie Dunaway scored the game-winner for Minnesota with less than 30 seconds remaining in “stoppage time”. It was the second straight season Pittsburgh fell to the Minnesota team in the post-season.
The Riveters had eliminated Louisville 5-0 Friday night to open their playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds returned to play Saturday night and lost to Brooklyn FC in their first-ever meeting 2-0. The loss dropped the ‘Hounds to 6-5-2 overall. Brooklyn improved to 3-8-3. The Riverhounds travel to Loudon this weekend.
