Drivers using Route 8 to head to Pittsburgh will see a local police force stepping up traffic enforcement.
The Shaler Police Department says they are launching Operation Safe Speed.
The initiative will focus on the Route 8 corridor in Shaler and will target speeding, red-light violations, and aggressive driving.
Police say this is an effort to make the area safer and to reduce crashes.
