Residents of Chicora Borough are being advised about a water line replacement project set to get underway next week.
Chicora has contracted Mealy Excavation and Construction, LLC to install new water lines within the borough system at four locations to replace existing aging lines. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday and continue through the summer months. Areas affected include:
Green Street from Water Street to Kittanning Street
Kittanning Street from Green Street to the Borough line.
East Slippery Rock Street from Green Street to the Borough line.
Legion Alley from Central Avenue to West Slippery Rock Street.
Legion Alley from Landmark Alley to Route 68.
Notification will be provided to residents in affected areas about scheduled outages during the process as much as possible. However, there is the possibility of emergency water outages due to lines being struck during the excavation process.
