Butler County is continuing with the $5 vehicle fee program.
Commissioners voted unanimously to extend the program through 2038.
The fee charges drivers $5 annually when they renew their registration. The county then uses that money to help municipalities fund road projects.
Since it first started in 2018, county officials say they have invested $1.3 million that has yielded $11.3 million in total investments. County officials say just over 20 municipalities have taken advantage of the program; another eight have expressed interest in exploring it for future projects.
