Independence Health System has been awarded state funding to help pay for the expansion of an apprenticeship program.
The PA Department of Labor and Industry recently announced that Butler Memorial Hospital will receive $250,000 as part of the Schools to Work Program.
The money will be used to create a healthcare pre-apprenticeship for high school students with clinical training, credentials, and mentorship to address local workforce shortages.
A total of $2.7 million will be distributed across the commonwealth through the Schools to Work program which is entirely state funded.
