Lawmakers in Harrisburg are advancing a bill to the senate that would provide eye tests and glasses to Pennsylvania children.
The bill would create a commission that would work with non-profits to develop a statewide plan to provide vision exams and glasses to children. Ohio, passed a similar law in 2024 that provides free eye exams and glasses to students.
The bill passed with bipartisan support and will now advance to the Senate Health Committee before reaching a vote on the senate floor.
